Talent Management
International Monetary Fund 2004 Talent Management (or Succession Planning) is critical for organisations wanting any future success. However, in many organisations succession planning is simply a matter of trying to identify ‘good’ people with the potential to develop into more senior managers. These people are then sometimes given a clear development path to follow but most are left to their own devices, with the organisation hoping that the individual is going to make the grade. Effective Talent Management revolves around the need for an organisation to ensure that it is aligned to meet the future needs and demands of its customers. The whole organisation should be involved in the process, not just the favoured few who have been singled out for development. A key part of Talent Management is developing individuals in line with the future needs of the organisation. Unfortunately, much of the investment in people development is wasted because it is not centred on the needs of the business and on the demands of its customers. Consequently, we work closely with our clients to ensure that all development activity is aligned to the business direction and its operational imperatives. We can support you in most aspects of Talent Management, working with you at organisational, team and individual level to ensure that you are successful today and in the future. |
